Subnautica 2 enters early access on May 14 with a new planet, four-player co-op, and a day-one Game Pass launch

Unknown Worlds will launch Subnautica 2 into early access on May 14, 2026 at 08:00 PDT. The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Series X/S, and it will also be included in Xbox Game Pass on day one for no extra cost.

A brand-new world to explore

Subnautica 2 takes players to an entirely new alien ocean planet with a distinct ecosystem. According to the studio, the launch version already features the largest starting world the series has ever offered.

Series-first co-op

The headline feature is four-player co-op, a first for the franchise. Solo play remains fully supported, but this time players will finally be able to explore the depths together.
