South Korea finishes 6th in PUBG Mobile at Asian Games

South Korea's PUBG Mobile national team finished in 6th place at the 2026 Asian Games. While the team managed to secure their first chicken dinner during the second day of finals, it wasn't enough to mount a successful comeback for a medal.

The finals took place at the Aichi Sky Expo in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Over the course of two days and 12 matches, South Korea accumulated a total of 71 points. The podium was claimed by Thailand (gold), China (silver), and Pakistan (bronze).

After the first day, South Korea sat in 6th place with 38 points, trailing 3rd-place Indonesia by 17 points. The second day began with a strong performance in Match 7, where the team secured a central zone position and kept all four players alive to claim a chicken dinner. This earned them 16 points (10 for placement and 6 for kills), providing a much-needed momentum boost.

However, the momentum was short-lived. In Match 8, the team was eliminated early near Rozhok after taking fire from multiple directions, scoring zero points. Match 9 saw them struggle against Vietnam, resulting in only a single placement point. Although they picked up more points in Matches 10 and 11, the gap to the leaders proved insurmountable.

By the end of Match 11, Thailand led the standings with 125 points, followed by China with 97. With South Korea at 67 points, the 26-point gap to the bronze medal position effectively ended their campaign for a podium finish.
