SOOP ASL Season 22: Finalists for Top 8 to be Decided
The second week of the 16-player group stage for ASL Season 22 is set to conclude. With four players already secured for the top 8, the upcoming matches for Groups C and D will determine the final four participants in StarCraft: Remastered.
The matches will take place on September 14 and 15 at the FreeUp Studio in Seoul. Group C has already been dubbed the "group of death," featuring four seasoned competitors: Lee Jae-ho, Jung Young-jae, Kim Min-chul, and Cho Il-jang, all of whom have experience reaching major tournament finals.
Group D, scheduled for September 15, consists of Jang Yun-chul, Kim Jae-hyun, Lee Young-han, and Kim Jung-woo. This group promises high variety as it includes representatives from all three races. Once these matches conclude, the full roster of eight players for the top 8 will be finalized.
The tournament format for this stage begins with the map Aiolos. Following this, players will participate in a ban phase, after which three remaining maps will be drawn for a Best-of-3 series.
