Jagex used its June 5 XBOX Wire post to answer the two biggest Dragonwilds questions at once: when it ships and why it matters for RuneScape.
What XBOX Wire confirmed
The June 5, 2026 XBOX Wire post says RuneScape: Dragonwilds launches on XBOX Series X|S on September 15, 2026.
Jagex describes it as an open-world survival crafting game set on Ashenfall, with questing, skilling, building, and a path toward the Dragon Queen Kuldra the God Eater.
Why this release matters
The same post calls Dragonwilds the first console launch in RuneScape’s 25-year history, which makes the date more than a routine platform expansion.
Jagex also explicitly mentions cross-platform functionality, so the four-player co-op pitch is not tied to one ecosystem.
