Rumors: valyn could lead LYON if the organization secures a VCT Americas partnership slot
According to reports from Sheep Esports, G2 Esports captain Jacob "valyn" Batio has reached an agreement to join the Mexican organization LYON. The deal is set to take effect in 2027, contingent on the organization securing a partnership slot in VCT Americas.
If the rumors materialize, valyn is expected to serve as the experienced IGL for a roster that LYON plans to build around Latin American talent. This move would mark the end of a three-year tenure with G2 Esports, during which he secured four regional titles and reached the Masters Bangkok grand final in 2025.
Meanwhile, significant roster changes are rumored for G2 Esports. Previous reports suggested the organization is looking to sign Eduardo "Sato" Nagahama and Francisco "kiNgg" Aravena, potentially leaving valyn out of the future lineup.
