Rockbeasts to partner with Critical Role for January 2027 launch
Lichthund has announced a major partnership with Critical Role, covering both creative development and publishing for the upcoming title Rockbeasts. The game is scheduled to launch in January 2027 on PS5.
Rockbeasts is a rock and roll management RPG where players step into the role of a manager rather than a performer. The goal is to take a band from a garage setting to the world's biggest stages by managing resources, navigating personalities, and handling the inherent chaos of the music industry.
As part of this collaboration, Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel will officially join the game's cast. According to Lichthund Creative Director Bartosz Pieczonka, their involvement is intended to bring a specific level of character depth and energy to the project, leveraging their extensive experience in storytelling.
The partnership aims to provide Lichthund with the creative and publishing support needed to realize the full vision of Rockbeasts. The studio noted that the game's unique theme and non-formulaic approach presented significant challenges for independent publishing and market positioning.
Rockbeasts is currently available to wishlist. The game is slated for a January 2027 release on PS5.
