Riot Games Expands Vanguard Anti-Boost in VALORANT

Riot Games has shared details regarding the operation of Vanguard Anti-Boost in VALORANT. Initially launched in League of Legends, the system arrived in the tactical shooter this summer and is already actively detecting boosting and other forms of ranking manipulation.

Anti-Boost identifies instances where an experienced player logs into another person's account to earn a significant portion of ranking points instead of the account owner. The system also tracks players who intentionally team up with boosters or smurfs to elevate their own rank.

Upon confirming a violation, Riot Games nullifies the earned ranking points and rewards, reverts the account to its previous rank, and issues a temporary suspension. The duration of the suspension increases with repeated offenses, while accounts involved in purchasing or intentional deranking may face permanent bans. Penalties also extend to the main accounts of boosters and their regular partners.

Since the end of last year, the company has taken action against 296,416 accounts across both VALORANT and League of Legends combined. Riot Games plans to continue expanding the system and increasing the number of canceled boosting results.
