PUBG EWC 2026 Final: Virtus.pro Leads With the Smash Rule Threshold at 136
The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS champion at Esports World Cup 2026 will be decided in Paris on July 26. After 12 maps, Virtus.pro leads with 126 points and the Smash Rule threshold is set at 136.
Standings After Day Two
Virtus.pro enters Sunday on 126 points. Team Falcons is second with 99 and The Vicious third with 85. NAVI follows on 78, Team Vitality on 77, Geekay Esports on 73, and Twisted Minds on 70.
The lower half begins with FULL SENSE on 68 and Gen.G on 63. MiTH and T1 have 56 each, GAM Esports 52, 17Gaming 49, All Gamers.ALYQO 48, Team Liquid 47, and Shadow Corp 45.
How the 136 Threshold Works
The final-day target is the day-two leader's score plus ten: Virtus.pro's 126 becomes 136. A team must first reach that total and then win a Chicken Dinner in a later match.
Virtus.pro's lead is therefore not an automatic championship. Its cushion shortens the route to eligibility, but the team must still win after crossing the line. Rivals can reach the same threshold during the day and unlock an equal winning condition.
Deciding-Day Schedule
The first map is scheduled for 11:00 UTC, followed by planned starts at 11:50, 12:40, 13:30, 14:20, and 15:10 UTC. The format allows up to six matches.
Play can end before the sixth map if an eligible team earns a Chicken Dinner. The fifth and sixth start times are therefore guideposts, not a guarantee that every scheduled match will be played.
Who Needs a Fast Start
Team Falcons sits 37 points below the threshold, while Virtus.pro needs ten. The Vicious, NAVI, and Team Vitality require both placement and kill points to unlock a chance to close the tournament with a map win.
Team Liquid and Shadow Corp begin far from the leaders, but the Smash Rule leaves a theoretical route through an exceptional run. Their practical task is harder: erase a large points gap, then win only after crossing the threshold.
Prize Pool and Stakes
The main prize pool is $2 million. First place earns $650,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points; second receives $300,000, third $200,000, and fourth $134,000.
A separate $25,000 MVP award brings total prize money to $2.025 million. The standings in this article are locked before play on July 26; final placements must be decided on the server rather than projected.
Why Ten Points May Not Produce a Short Final
Virtus.pro is closest to eligibility, but the required ten points may arrive gradually. Even then, winning the same map would not close the event: the Smash Rule requires a Chicken Dinner in a subsequent match.
Team Falcons has more room to score but a longer path to 136. If several teams cross the target before a late map, every following ending becomes a direct title fight rather than merely a contest for the highest aggregate score.
What to Track During the Broadcast
The first checkpoint is the official table marking a team as having reached the threshold. The second is the eligible-team list before the next map starts. Only then does a Chicken Dinner carry championship meaning under the Smash Rule.
An unofficial live table should not be used to declare the winner because penalties, result confirmation, and point updates belong to the organizer. Final reporting should follow the PUBG Esports or Esports World Cup result record.
