PlayStation FlexStrike and 27-inch Gaming Monitor launch in August

Sony detailed dates, prices and specs for its new accessories: FlexStrike launches August 6, while the 27-inch QHD monitor arrives August 27 in the U.S. and Japan.

What was announced

PlayStation Blog detailed three devices for the PS5 and PC ecosystem: FlexStrike wireless fight stick, 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook and Pulse Elevate wireless speakers. The first two now have dates and prices, while Pulse Elevate is planned for later in 2026.

This is not just random peripheral expansion. Sony is covering three different setups: fighting game competition, desktop PS5/PC play and dedicated desktop audio.

FlexStrike: date, price and use case

FlexStrike wireless fight stick launches globally starting August 6, 2026. Pre-orders begin June 12, 2026. Recommended pricing is $199.99, €199.99, £179.99 and ¥34,980 including tax in Japan.

The device is built for PS5 and PC. Sony emphasizes competitive play and portability, with an included sling carry case and a built-in rechargeable battery. That matters because fight sticks are often taken to locals, meetups and home sessions.

The key buyer questions remain buttons, latency, wireless stability and comfort on a lap or desk. Those require independent testing; the official post gives positioning, not a full review.

27-inch Gaming Monitor: specs

The 27-inch Gaming Monitor with DualSense Charging Hook launches in the U.S. and Japan starting August 27, 2026. Pre-orders begin June 5 through direct.playstation.com, Best Buy in the U.S. and participating retailers in Japan. Recommended pricing is $349.99 and ¥49,980 including tax.

The announced specs are a 27-inch QHD IPS display at 2560×1440, VRR, up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and up to 240Hz on a compatible PC or Mac. The DualSense Charging Hook turns it into a desktop PlayStation hub rather than just a screen.

For PS5, 1440p and 120Hz make sense. For PC and Mac, the 240Hz ceiling is the interesting part, but real latency, overdrive quality and VRR behavior still need testing.

Pulse Elevate

Pulse Elevate wireless speakers are coming later in 2026. Sony positions them as a desktop audio match for the 27-inch monitor, but price and pre-order timing have not been announced.

Takeaway

The August launch expands PlayStation beyond the living room. FlexStrike targets fighting games and local competition, the monitor targets compact PS5/PC setups, and Pulse Elevate should fill the audio piece later. The key tests are still ahead: FlexStrike latency, 1440p/120Hz quality on PS5 and real VRR behavior on the monitor.
