Phantom Blade Zero sales top four million in 72 hours
Phantom Blade Zero has achieved a massive launch, with total sales surpassing four million units in just 72 hours, according to an announcement from developer S-GAME.
The title launched digitally on October 29 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A physical edition for PlayStation 5 is currently slated for a 2027 release.
Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Phantom Blade Zero blends classic Wuxia storytelling with fantasy and folk horror elements. The narrative follows Soul, a warrior with only sixty-six days left to live, as he navigates a web of conspiracies and assassins. The developers describe the setting as "Kungfupunk"—a fusion of traditional martial arts and mechanical elements inspired by the Golden Age of Hong Kong action cinema.
The combat system utilizes state-of-the-art motion capture to replicate authentic martial arts choreography. Players have access to an extensive arsenal featuring over thirty weapons and more than twenty unique "Phantom Edges" that can be mixed and matched to suit different playstyles.
