Permafrost: Survival in a Frozen World with a Loyal Companion
Early Access for Permafrost, a new open-world survival action game, launched on Steam today, October 9, 2026. The game tasks players with surviving the brutal conditions of a frozen wasteland.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has collapsed under a layer of ice, Permafrost requires players to navigate frozen cities and desolate wilderness. Survival depends on gathering resources through hunting and exploration, as well as repairing and upgrading abandoned shelters to escape the deadly cold.

A standout feature of the game is the player's loyal canine companion. The dog serves as a vital partner, assisting with scouting and transporting gathered supplies across the harsh landscape.

In addition to solo play, Permafrost supports up to 4-player multiplayer, allowing players to survive the frost together. The Steam store page includes a roadmap detailing the game's future development plans. The game features Japanese language support.
