Grinding Gear Games has confirmed the launch of Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5.0 Return of the Ancients for May 29, 2026 at 20:00 UTC on PC and Consoles. This is the final full-size league before the official 1.0 release.
New League: Runes of Aldur
The update introduces the Runes of Aldur Challenge League — a fresh economy start. Throughout areas, players will find Ezomyte Remnants with slots to inscribe ancient runes. By combining over 100 runes, players can craft magical items and rare currencies, weaving crafting directly into map-clearing gameplay.
New Ascendancies
- Martial Artist (Monk) — creates powerful illusions of himself, summons shatterable bells, and excels at unarmed combat
- Spirit Walker (Huntress) — new ascendancy for the Huntress class built around spirit mechanics
Endgame Overhaul
The Atlas Tree has been significantly expanded to over 300 nodes. Logbook content structure changes to island-hopping across open oceans as the new late-game navigation model, with more than 50 hours of new endgame content promised.
