The next generation of gaming GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD might be further away than previously rumored. According to insider Kepler_L2, most key architectural solutions from both companies, including the RDNA 5 lineup and graphics based on Rubin silicon, are reportedly planned for 2028.

Currently, AMD's AT2 is cited as the only new GPU expected to launch in 2027. Everything else from both companies is said to be planned for 2028. This would place most of the RDNA 5 lineup and the NVIDIA GeForce generation based on Rubin architecture into the 2028 release window.

Development is underway, but schedules remain volatile

It is important to note that both architectures are already in development. Work on AMD RDNA 5 (also known as GFX13) has already appeared in software development, and reports regarding AT0 and AT2 configurations have been circulating for months. As for NVIDIA, rumors regarding the next gaming architecture being based on Rubin silicon have been reported, though final specifications and performance targets remain unknown.

However, industry insiders emphasize that release schedules can change quickly. Pricing, logistics, and market conditions can lead to postponements or cancellations. A recent example of such uncertainty is the ongoing discussion regarding the RTX 50 SUPER series, where rumors about potential cancellations or SKU adjustments continue to circulate.
