Minecraft 26.2 Pre-Release 4 makes final Chaos Cubed tweaks ahead of June 16 launch
The latest Minecraft Java pre-release closes a few more gaps before Chaos Cubed ships.
Mojang released Minecraft 26.2 Pre-Release 4 on June 4, 2026. In the official note, the studio also reiterated that the Chaos Cubed drop is scheduled for June 16.
What changed in this build
The biggest technical tweak is the particle cap. When the game is overwhelmed, it now randomly decides which particles to render instead of removing particles already in flight. Mojang says this is especially noticeable with the new geyser eruptions.
The Sulfur Cube now gets pushed farther as Knockback levels increase. Mojang also changed Potent Sulfur so the Ender Dragon is no longer affected by geyser impulse.
UI and technical updates
The Multiplayer Options screen has been renamed back to Open to LAN, and a Realms configuration issue has been fixed. Hosts can now access Game Mode and Allow Commands in World Options, while Open to LAN lets hosts set those values separately for other players.
On the technical side, the Data Pack version is now 107.1, particle_render_stats has expanded group counters, and Mojang added the #not_affected_by_geysers entity tag.
Bug fixes
The patch notes specifically call out fixes for disappearing spore blossom particles and a fullscreen window height issue.
