Midnight’s 12.1.5 Content Update Arrives October 13
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the details for the World of Warcraft: Midnight 12.1.5 content update, scheduled to launch on October 13 during weekly maintenance. The update introduces a new single-boss raid, a massive new exploration mode, and significant mid-season progression updates for Season 2.
New Raid and Massive Exploration
The update features a new single-boss raid titled The Unbinding of Kith’ix. Players will face the ancient threat lurking beneath the Venomous Abyss in a confrontation involving Lady Liadrin. The raid will support Story Mode, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties, with Mythic mode accommodating flexible groups of 15–25 players.
For those seeking a grand adventure, the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan is being introduced. Described as a sprawling, mega-dungeon-like experience similar to Delves, this Amani funeral complex consists of nine chambers. Players can tackle the Labyrinth in one epic session or wing by wing, accompanied by Valeera Sanguinar. The mode offers dedicated progression systems and high-tier rewards, including Mythic gear and a Tier 11 solo challenge.
Season 2 Mid-Season Refresh
Progression mechanics are receiving a major boost. Starting October 6, Orin Straylight in Silvermoon City will offer a way to acquire additional Nebulous Voidcores through a specific questline involving Decimus in Voidstorm. Once completed, players can trade gold, Voidlight Marl, or Veteran Mistcrests for one extra core per week.
Additionally, starting October 20, players can collect Ascendant Venomstones. These items drop from Heroic and Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons at +10 and above, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests. Collecting 10 stones allows players to use the Catalyst in Silvermoon City to raise the item level of fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Myth, or Tidal Crafted gear.
Story and World Events
The new story campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow, continues the Midnight saga, bringing players back to the heart of Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman. The update also introduces Aqir Invasion, a series of zone-wide public events in Eversong and Zul’Aman. These ten-minute hourly events feature six different scenario types and various combat and non-combat affixes, such as Void Protection and Swarms!.
Finally, Keystone Myth returns for Season 2. Players can aim for the Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 achievement by reaching a Mythic+ rating of 3600, providing a meaningful challenge for the second half of the season.
