Metaphor: ReFantazio ‘Prologue’ demo for Switch 2 now available
The “Prologue” demo for Metaphor: ReFantazio is now available for Nintendo Switch 2, according to an announcement from publisher ATLUS and developer Studio Zero. The demo covers the opening section of the game, and any progress made will carry over to the full version upon release.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch on November 12. Metaphor: ReFantazio has already been released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, earning significant acclaim including the “Best RPG” award at The Game Awards 2024.
Set in a fantasy world where players fight for the throne in a royal tournament, the game features several core mechanics:
- Combat System: An innovative turn-based system blended with real-time action elements.
- Archetype Powers: A customization system that allows players to personalize their party's abilities.
- Time Management: A gameplay loop where players explore dungeons and complete quests by day, while building character bonds and virtues by night.
From the creators of Persona 3, 4, and 5, the title focuses on an immersive journey across expansive landscapes, utilizing a distinct art direction and anime-style cutscenes.
