MelGeek unveils 8K polling gaming mouse HORUS with ancient guardian motifs
MelGeek has launched the HORUS, a lightweight wired/wireless gaming mouse supporting 8K polling rates. The design features cutouts inspired by Horus and Bastet, utilizing a PixArt PAW3950 sensor and Nordic NRF54L MCU.
MelGeek has unveiled the HORUS, a new gaming mouse designed with ancient Egyptian mythology in mind. The device supports both wired and wireless connections, featuring an 8K polling rate for ultra-low latency. Priced at ¥19,800 (approx. $135), it aims to blend high-end performance specs with a unique aesthetic theme.
The HORUS features a hollowed-out bottom shell design inspired by the emblems of Horus and Bastet. MelGeek describes this as embodying the spirit of these two ancient guardian deities: Horus, representing precision with his "Eye," and Bastet, symbolizing protection with her "Soul." This thematic approach gives the hardware a distinct cultural identity beyond standard gaming peripherals.
Under the hood, the mouse is equipped with the PixArt PAW3950 optical sensor. This component supports a maximum resolution of 30,000 DPI, an acceleration rating of 50G, and a speed of 750 IPS. For actuation, it utilizes TTC optical switches and a TTC Green Dragon wheel encoder, ensuring responsive clicks and smooth scrolling.
Wireless performance is managed by a Nordic NRF54L MCU, paired with MelGeek's proprietary "NullSync Wireless Technology" and a stacked vertical antenna. The manufacturer claims this combination delivers stable connectivity with low power consumption. The included 8K receiver features a translucent geometric design inspired by the pyramids of the Louvre Museum and includes an illumination function.
In terms of physical dimensions, the HORUS measures 124 x 66 x 39mm and weighs approximately 49g (±2g). It is available in black and white colorways. The product was confirmed by PC shop Arc, with availability on Amazon and Rakuten starting August 25, 2026.
