LGD Gaming part ways with Dota 2 roster after contracts expire
LGD Gaming has officially parted ways with its Dota 2 roster following the expiration of all player contracts on August 24, 2026. Team manager Barbara "Babi" Borniya clarified that this separation was not due to any players being released or kicked, but rather a natural conclusion to their agreements reached after the organization's participation in The International 2026.
According to Borniya, who shared the details on X, every member of the squad had contracts valid strictly until August 24. She emphasized that no roster changes were forced and that the situation was purely administrative as the scheduled terms ended.
The previous lineup, which finished in 9th–13th place at The International 2026, consisted of Yuma, Wisper, Thiolicor, KJ, and Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen. Borniya confirmed that no specific player was removed from the active roster during this transition.
Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen has indicated he does not plan to retire immediately. In a recent interview, the mid laner revealed that negotiations for his future are already underway, though he declined to name the interested team or confirm if a new deal with LGD Gaming is being discussed.
LGD Gaming has not yet announced its plans for the upcoming competitive season or confirmed whether any former players will receive new contracts. Further roster moves are expected once official announcements are made by either the organization or the individual athletes.
