Keychron launches J3 SE 96% wireless mechanical keyboard
Keychron has launched the J3 SE, a 99-key mechanical keyboard featuring a compact 96% layout. This design aims to preserve the functionality of a near-full-size arrangement while saving desk space. The board includes dedicated key legends compatible with both Windows and macOS.
Internally, the J3 SE features an FR4 positioning plate and multiple sound-dampening layers. The PCB includes hot-swappable sockets, allowing users to replace switches without soldering. Out of the box, the keyboard comes with factory-installed Sakura Milk linear switches, which utilize POM stems and top housings, paired with double-shot PBT keycaps in an MDA profile.

Connectivity options include a wired USB-C connection and a 2.4GHz wireless link, both operating at a 1,000Hz polling rate. The device is powered by a 4,000mAh internal battery, which Keychron rates for up to approximately 200 hours of wireless use when RGB backlighting is disabled. Users can customize key inputs through QMK and the Keychron Launcher web app.

For ergonomic adjustments, the keyboard includes an integrated kickstand offering three tilt angles: 4.5°, 6.4°, and 8.7°.
