Wii Sports vibes: what to expect from the just volleyball demo
While many sports sims chase hyper-realism, just volleyball takes a different approach. Heavily inspired by the aesthetic of Wii Sports, the game focuses on accessibility and straightforward fun, offering a competitive experience centered on character and ball control.
The current demo of just volleyball features an avatar customization screen reminiscent of the Mii Channel. Players can choose various hairstyles, facial features, voice settings, and jersey numbers. While the visual style is charmingly simple, the gameplay demands significantly more precision than your typical casual sports title.
The control scheme relies on a controller's dual sticks: the left stick handles character movement, while the right stick determines the direction of the hit. Success requires constant vigilance; players must aim their cursor toward teammates during receives to avoid losing points. Serving also requires precise timing to effectively outmaneuver opponents.

A demo is currently available on Steam, and the full release of just volleyball is scheduled for November 4th.
