Inner Pocket Launches as New Indie Label Championing 'Curiosity Games'
A group of industry veterans, including staff from Critical Reflex, Gaijin Entertainment, and Nozomu Games, has launched a new independent publishing label called Inner Pocket. The fledgling company is focused on bringing "intimate and engaging" experiences to market, specifically targeting what they call "curiosity games"—titles that players still think about years later.
The new publisher offers partners comprehensive support covering go-to-market counsel, optimization, trailer production, user acquisition, localization, functional QA, and platform relations. Last-mile investment will also be offered to partners who need extra help to finish, polish, and prepare their project for release on Steam. The label has explained that most projects it signs will need less than $75,000 in funding.
In addition, Inner Pocket intends to foster a passionate community by focusing on Steam curation and engaging with players on YouTube and Discord. Yaroslav Kadyshen, co-founder of the label, stated: "We're choosing a pretty specific niche from the start, and we're going to be very picky about the games we publish."
Nozomu Games' occult deck-burner Burn With Me will become one of Inner Pocket's debut titles when it lands in October.
