Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 Update Details

Honkai: Star Rail has launched its Version 4.5 update, titled "To Roll the Stars in Astropolis," shifting the narrative focus to the media capital of the universe. This major patch introduces two new 5-star characters, Robin • Summeretto and Aventurine • Waveflair, alongside significant story progression into the IPC's headquarters. The update runs from August 26 until September 28, 2026 (UTC+8), offering Trailblazers a chance to explore new districts like Lodestar Tower and Skycall Aery, while also providing server maintenance compensation of 300 Stellar Jade for eligible players.

The core narrative of this version centers on the high-stakes environment of Astropolis, where the Interastral Peace Corporation's media empire holds immense power. The new Trailblaze Mission, "Astropolis — To Roll the Stars in Astropolis," asks what price must be paid to keep the arcadia breathing. Players with a Trailblaze Level of 21 or higher can access this story permanently after the update, though it is available for preview via Finality's Vision during the patch window. Following this main story is the continuance "Astropolis — How to Lose Your Way to the Top: The Zero-Dollar Strategy," which explores the darker side of spending and fate.

On the character front, Robin • Summeretto arrives as a Support unit with the Remembrance path. She summons memosprites called "Summer Songbirds" to assist in combat, advancing a teammate's action and regenerating their Energy. Her buffs scale based on how frequently allies take action, providing benefits such as ignoring DEF. Joining her is Aventurine • Waveflair, a damage-dealing character with the Elation path. He synergizes with the team's attack count, gaining "Fervor" and "Punchline" to unleash additional skills and enhance his next Elation Skill for greater damage output.

Supporting these new characters are two 5-star Light Cones: Rise and Sing (Remembrance) and Summer Rides the Surf (Elation), both obtainable through their respective Event Warps. A third 4-star Light Cone, A Little Getaway (Elation), is available in Version 4.5 but will transition to the Stellar Warp in Version 4.6. Additionally, a new Trailblaze Fashion headwear item, "Aw, Look Up Here," can be purchased using Stellar Jade.

New exploration areas have been added to the map, including Astropolis Central District, which serves as both a headquarters and a covert battleground for IPC factions. Players can also visit Lodestar Tower to see the behind-the-scenes operations where laborers create miracles, and Skycall Aery, a suspended building that acts as the heart of Astropolis and occasionally the Pan-Cosmic Trade System.

The update features two major events. The first is "Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix," a racing grand prix that emulates the Phantasmoon Games, where the winning team ascends to godhood as the "God of Traffic (Laws)." The second event, "Minuscule Great Adventure," challenges players to assemble a hero squad and defeat formidable foes across various stages. A daily check-in event, "Gift of Odyssey," rewards players with Star Rail Special Passes after seven days of login.

Combat mechanics have been adjusted with the introduction of "Voracity Corrosion." The ancient Aeon of Voracity is awakening, infecting a portion of enemies and empowering them to restore HP upon taking fatal damage. However, dealing damage to these contaminated monsters suppresses their Max HP; once suppressed sufficiently, they can be defeated permanently. This mechanic applies to new enemies like the "Lighthouse" and "Astropolis Sentinel." The Anomaly Arbitration high-difficulty mode has also been updated with a new theme, "Return of the Legion," offering rewards including Lone Stardust and Interference Keys.

Permanent game modes Apocalyptic Shadow and Pure Fiction have received updates. Apocalyptic Shadow features Celestial Lupine, which dispels control debuffs for allies when a "Steadfast Safeguard" enemy is Weakness Broken. Pure Fiction introduces Domain Genesis, where gaining Punchline allows allies to accumulate additional Grit Value. The duration for these modes has been shortened to 5 weeks due to the version adjustment.

System improvements include a new "Dialogue Speed-Up" feature, allowing players to accelerate text and voice lines in story performances via a toggle button in the top right corner of the dialogue interface. This applies to missions from Versions 4.0 to 4.5 and newly added content. The update also introduces a new management panel for the "Furbobocom" system, enabling players to dispatch furbos to follow up on reports and produce TV shows. A new Treasure Gadget called "Energy Sensor" has been added to reveal the location of one Basic Treasure on Astropolis-related maps.

Optimizations and bug fixes address various issues across characters, combat, and systems. Visual effects for Gilgamesh's Skill have been optimized, and auto-battle logic for certain characters has been adjusted. Story cutscenes in missions like "Planarcadia — Limelight" now feature improved facial expressions for the Trailblazer (Female). Environmental effects on beaches and home decoration placements have also been refined. Audio fixes include adding voice artist information for Welt in English and correcting dialogue lines for various characters across different languages.

The patch resolves numerous technical issues, including abnormal model displays for Himeko • Nova after using her Technique, interrupted camera movements, and idle animation effects remaining in the environment. Combat fixes address attacks failing to register against certain targets and issues with Jingliu entering the "Spectral Transmigration" state. Specific enemy behaviors during phases of bosses like "Anti-Creator, Hatred Inundate" and "Lord of Saṃvartasthāyi, Asat Pramad" have been corrected. UI displays for damage calculations in auto-battle and chat interfaces have also been improved.

Further bug fixes cover specific game modes and scenarios. Issues with the Team Lineup in "Fate/stay night," platform falling mechanics in "Antigraft Brickbuster," and enemy name displays in "Memory of Chaos: Stormcleanse" have been resolved. System prompts for Relic enhancement and controller interactions have been fixed, along with model resolution issues for pets like "Pentaflavor Emoti." The update also includes optimizations for in-game texts across 13 languages, ensuring consistent descriptions for story dialogue, item profiles, and system hints without affecting actual gameplay effects.
