Developer Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity have launched a playable demo for Guns of Escaton. The souls-like FPS set in a post-apocalyptic Wild West is now available for download on Steam.
Set in a desolate 19th-century America, the game follows a mysterious gunslinger navigating a harsh, ruined landscape. Survival depends on precision and resource management, as ammunition is scarce and a single mistake can lead to death.
The gameplay blends first-person shooting with intense souls-like combat elements. Players can utilize a variety of tools to survive, including:
- timed parries;
- specialized ammunition;
- occult powers and talismans;
- the "Codex" system to uncover enemy weaknesses.
The demo was released on October 5, 2026, and will remain playable throughout the Steam Next Fest event, which runs from October 19 to October 26.
