GTA VI Delayed Again: Rockstar Confirms November 19, 2026 Release Date
Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed once again. Rockstar Games announced the latest postponement, moving the release date to November 19, 2026.
Strauss Zelnick: 'GTA VI is launching 18 months behind the original date.'
GTA fans are facing another disappointment: Rockstar Games has officially delayed Grand Theft Auto VI from spring 2026 to November 19, 2026. This marks the third delay of the studio's flagship project.
Official Reason
Rockstar cited the standard need for additional time to achieve the quality level players expect. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick noted that GTA VI is launching "18 months behind the original date," implying the game was originally planned for spring 2025.
Take-Two Financial Outlook
Despite the delay, Take-Two remains optimistic, projecting $8–8.2 billion in net bookings for the next fiscal year. Zelnick stated: "We believe Fiscal 2027 will establish new record levels of operating performance driven by the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI."
Marketing and Pre-Orders
According to sources, Rockstar plans to kick off active marketing near the start of summer. Pre-orders and a third official trailer are expected in late June 2026.
Community Reaction
The announcement has sparked disappointment across the gaming community, though many acknowledge the delay is predictable given the project's scope. GTA V remains one of the best-selling games of all time, and the stakes for the sixth installment are enormous.
