Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture splits from NetEase
Grasshopper Manufacture is splitting from its former owner, NetEase Games. The announcement was made by the studio's CEO, Goichi Suda.
The decision to move toward independence follows the completion of the action-adventure title Romeo Is A Dead Man. After reflecting on the studio's future, Suda stated that the team wants to be able to "deliver titles in an even wider variety of styles to video game lovers everywhere."
The split was finalized after "thorough discussions with NetEase Games," according to Suda. He noted that by improving their own self-publishing expertise, the studio now possesses a broader range of strategic options. Regardless of future publishing arrangements, Grasshopper Manufacture remains committed to its signature "NO GAME NO LIFE" experience, focusing on unique titles and enhanced quality.
