GPD WIN Max 3 with Ryzen AI Max+: Pre-orders Open

GPD has officially opened pre-orders for the 9.06-inch GPD WIN Max 3 in the Japanese market. The device distinguishes itself with the integration of Ryzen AI Max+ processors and a unique modular battery design.

The GPD WIN Max 3 functions as a hybrid between a laptop and a handheld gaming console. It features a 9.06-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2400×1504. The screen supports 10-point multi-touch and active stylus input, expanding its utility beyond gaming into creative tasks.

A standout technical feature is the 97Wh detachable battery module. Beyond extending playtime, the module acts as an ergonomic palm rest for the keyboard when docked. A magnetic cover is included to protect the connection point when the module is removed. For thermal management, users can attach an optional dual-fan module, creating a quad-fan configuration that significantly enhances airflow.

The lineup is divided into three specific configurations:

  • Ryzen AI Max+ 388 with 32GB LPDDR5x and 1TB SSD;
  • Ryzen AI Max+ 388 with 64GB LPDDR5x and 2TB SSD;
  • Ryzen AI Max+ 395 with 128GB LPDDR5x and 2TB SSD.

Input includes capacitive joysticks and Hall Effect triggers to ensure long-term durability. The device weighs approximately 815g in its base state, with dimensions expanding to 207×180×34 mm when the battery module is attached.

Pricing in Japan is set at ¥308,000, ¥398,000, and ¥698,000 for the respective models. During the pre-order period, customers can benefit from a ¥3,000 discount on the units and a 50% discount on the additional cooling modules.
