Gigabyte preparing massive Z990 motherboard lineup for Intel Nova Lake, database filing suggests

GIGABYTE appears to be gearing up for the launch of Intel Nova Lake processors with an extensive range of new motherboards. Recent filings in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) database suggest the company is preparing a significant lineup to support the upcoming architecture.

A wide variety of models: from flagships to compact builds

It is important to note that trademark filings do not guarantee that every registered model will reach the market. However, the scale of the filing is notable: the documentation contains approximately 40 entries for the Z990 chipset. After filtering out duplicates, 24 unique model names remain. The filings also include some B760 motherboards alongside the Z990 avalanche.

While the EAEU entries do not specify technical details, we can infer the potential lineup based on current GIGABYTE trends:

  • An E-ATX flagship, likely named Aorus Z990 Xtreme;
  • Micro-ATX and mini-ITX options, potentially the Z990M Elite WiFi 7 and Z990 I Pro;
  • A return of the wood-accented aesthetic with Z990 Aero Wood and Aero Dark Wood;
  • Support for back-connect builds via the Z990 Stealth Duo X.

The majority of the lineup is expected to follow the standard ATX form factor.

Timeline and expectations

Currently, the exact release window for Intel Nova Lake and the Z990 chipset remains unconfirmed. If the rumors hold true, more concrete technical specifications might emerge in Q1 2027. Industry observers suggest that official announcements could potentially arrive during CES.
