Gen.G chooses KT Rolster for LCK Playoffs Round 2

The playoffs officially began with the Play-In stage, where T1 and KT Rolster emerged victorious from their matches against BNK FearX and Dplus KIA, respectively. This advancement allowed them to join the main bracket alongside the top-seeded Gen.G.

Gen.G, having finished first in the regular season, exercised its right to pick its opponent for Round 2. Despite their previous loss to KT Rolster at the 2025 LoL World Championship finals, the team opted for a matchup against KT over T1. This decision is viewed as strategically sound, given Gen.G's superior head-to-head record against KT in both the LCK regular season and MSI qualifiers.

Consequently, second-place finisher Hanwha Life e-Sports was assigned to face T1. Hanwha Life enters this match with significant psychological momentum, having defeated T1 in three of their four previous encounters during the regular season and MSI qualifiers, including a dominant sweep in Round 4.

The playoff schedule continues on September 1st with the Gen.G vs. KT Rolster clash, followed by Hanwha Life e-Sports versus T1 on the 2nd. The losers of these matches will compete in Round 3 on the 3rd, while the winners advance to the Championship Points stage starting September 12th at KSPO Dome.
