Gen.G advance to first-ever Worlds Grand Final
Gen.G Esports have secured their place in the Worlds 2026 Grand Final after a commanding 3:0 victory over Invictus Gaming in the first semifinal. This historic win marks the first time the organization has reached a World Championship Grand Final under its current tag, and for mid laner Chovy, it represents the first final of his professional career.
The series was defined by Gen.G's clinical dominance. They took control early, securing convincing wins in the first two games with scores of 29:9 and 25:9. While Invictus Gaming managed to mount a much stronger resistance in the third game, Gen.G successfully turned the tide to claim an 18:15 victory, completing the sweep.
Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon stood out as a key performer, finishing the series with a KDA of 13/6/31 and 64% kill participation. Speaking after the match, Chovy revealed that his mindset during this tournament has shifted significantly. While previous Worlds were defined by the struggle to manage pressure and meet high expectations, this year he focused on enjoying every single moment and every game played.
The player also credited the crowd for his improved mental approach, noting that hearing the fans cheering during his walkouts made him feel blessed and happy. This positive momentum has fueled his singular focus: winning the championship.

Gen.G will face the winner of the second semifinal between T1 and Bilibili Gaming in the Grand Final on November 14 in Brooklyn. Chovy remained indifferent to the potential opponent, stating that his only goal is to win the title, regardless of who stands in their way.
