Gen.G defeats KT Rolster 3-0 to secure Worlds 2026 spot
Gen.G defeated KT Rolster 3-0 in the LCK Playoffs Round 2 to secure a spot in the Winners' Final and lock in a minimum third seed for the League of Legends World Championship.
The match took place on September 1 at the LCK Arena in Jongno District. Gen.G controlled the series despite early setbacks, converting key team fights to close out the game.
In the first set, Gen.G trailed until the 35-minute Elder Dragon fight. Canyon Kim Geon-bu secured a steal with Lee Sin and followed up with an ace to take the lead. The second set saw "Ruler" Park Jae-hyuk's Ashe eliminate "Ziu" Jeong Ji-woo's Jhin in the mid lane. Gen.G then used their Chemtech Dragon soul and Baron buff to break through KT's top lane defenses, taking the second game.
Gen.G started the third set with a bottom lane loss but turned the tide with an ace during the 22-minute Fire Dragon fight. They dominated the subsequent Baron skirmish and closed the series in 27 minutes when "Gin" Kim Gi-in's Twisted Fate recorded a triple kill in a bottom lane engagement. Gen.G then pushed into KT's base to destroy the twin towers and Nexus.
