Gen.G defeats Hanwha Life Esports 3:1 to reach LCK 2026 Season finals
Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life Esports 3:1 to secure their place in the LCK 2026 Season final. The match concluded on September 5, 2026, with Gen.G overcoming a strong early-game performance by their opponents to take control of the late game.
In the fourth game, Hanwha Life Esports established a significant early lead. Their core damage dealers, Jeka playing Sylas and Kumayushi playing Kalista, secured multiple kills, allowing them to snowball their gold advantage. The situation appeared to be tilting in Hanwha Life Esports' favor, but Gen.G responded by effectively defending their jungle against invasions. This defensive play allowed Gen.G to reverse the gold deficit and stabilize the game state.
The turning point began in the top lane. Gin, playing Varus, coordinated with Ruler's Miss Fortune to secure a kill on Zeus' Nasus. This engagement also resulted in the destruction of the first top tower. As the top lane power disparity grew, Gin pressured the second tower. Canyon, playing Viego, initiated a dive to secure another kill on Nasus, further widening the gap between the two teams.
Shortly after, another skirmish erupted in the top lane. Gen.G executed a coordinated team fight, eliminating Nami, Kalista, and other opponents while also securing the Rift Herald. Although Gen.G held a favorable position, they lacked a primary tank, making skill usage and team coordination critical in subsequent engagements. Gin continued to dominate Zeus in the side lane, steadily increasing the gold difference.

Hanwha Life Esports chose to engage in a five-man team fight rather than trading objectives for time. During the standoff over the Dragon, Jeka's Sylas and Zeus' Nasus engaged Gen.G's damage dealers, securing kills on Miss Fortune and Varus. However, Chovy's Vex played a pivotal role, turning the fight into a 4:4 trade. Despite winning the immediate exchange, Hanwha Life Esports failed to secure the objective, allowing Gen.G to take the Dragon and reach three stacks.
Gen.G then eliminated Delight's Renata Glasc and successfully secured Baron Nashor. Following this, they continued their momentum by eliminating Sylas, Nami, and Nasus before destroying the mid-lane inhibitor. Gen.G did not prolong the game, breaking through Hanwha Life Esports' defense at the bottom inhibitor to claim the victory and advance to the LCK 2026 Season final.
