GeForce Now: Linux App Exits Beta, Performance Boosts Arrive
The transition from beta to stable release marks a significant milestone for Linux gamers, removing the need for workarounds or compatibility layers that previously complicated the experience.
Reduced Latency with DLSS Frame Generation
A key focus of this update is the optimization of DLSS Frame Generation. NVIDIA states that these changes are designed to reduce latency, making games feel more responsive. The improvements are particularly noticeable when streaming at 60 FPS or 120 FPS in resolutions up to 4K. Mouse movements and camera pans should now feel immediate.
Optimizations for CPU-Intensive Games
GeForce Now offers three tiers, two of which are paid: Performance and Ultimate. These tiers differ in cloud hardware specifications: the Performance tier uses a vCPU with 8 cores and 28 GB of RAM, while Ultimate utilizes a vCPU with 16 cores and 56 GB of RAM.
NVIDIA has implemented software optimizations specifically for the Performance tier to boost frame rates in CPU-intensive titles. This upgrade is applied automatically, meaning members do not need to install or configure anything additional.
New Titles on GFN Thursday
The service continues its tradition of adding new games every Thursday. The latest additions include the highly anticipated Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, as well as new releases such as Sandustry and Car Wash Simulator.
