Gears of War: E-Day Has Gone Gold: Pre-Install Date and PC Specs Revealed
Gears of War: E-Day has officially gone gold, marking the final stretch before its release. The Coalition studio head Mike Crump confirmed that the title is ready for launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam, with availability on Game Pass from day one.
Pre-installation for the game will begin on September 29 for all supported platforms. Players who purchased the Premium Edition will benefit from up to five days of early access, starting October 1. For everyone else, including Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, the worldwide launch is set for October 6.
Set 14 years before the original game, the campaign follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the terrifying Emergence Day. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game aims for a darker, more immersive atmosphere. Multiplayer features include a reimagined Horde Siege mode with specialized classes—Assault, Marksman, Medic, and Breacher—and a refined "Versus" PvP mode featuring modernized movement and updated maps.

Alongside the gold announcement, the studio released the full PC specifications. Following the Multiplayer Open Beta in July, The Coalition has focused on iterating performance and stability to ensure smooth gameplay across a wide range of hardware configurations at launch.
