A Difficult Start
TL's global launch in late 2024 drew criticism: aggressive monetization, Pay2Win complaints, and technical issues. NCSoft responded consistently, patching the game and listening to community feedback.
Patch 2.2: Citadel of Abyss and PvP Season
The current Patch 2.2 adds the Citadel of Abyss raid and launches a new PvP season. Per official NCSoft channels, the raid supports 24 players and is the hardest PvE content to date. Detailed mechanics will be covered separately after the editorial team's full run.
Monetization Changes
Community feedback and our own observations suggest NCSoft has significantly softened the most aggressive Pay2Win mechanics over the past year.
Where TL Is Headed
In our view, TL in 2026 demonstrates how a live MMORPG can reinvent itself through active community engagement. The Frozen Divide expansion is announced for June 2026.
