Rumors: G2 Esports Prepare Major Roster Changes Ahead of LEC 2027
G2 Esports could undergo significant roster changes ahead of the 2027 LEC season. According to reports from Sheep Esports, Esportmaníacos, and Rostermania, the European organization is already exploring multiple options for its next roster, with potential shifts in the jungle, top lane, and support positions, as well as the coaching staff.
The coaching staff is expected to see a major update following the departure of strategic coach Jonas "Memento" Elmarghichi. Sheep Esports reports that former Team Vitality head coach Patrick "Pad" Suckow-Breum is expected to join G2 for the 2027 season. His arrival could facilitate the integration of Linas "Lyncas" Nauncikas, a Lithuanian jungler who is reportedly set to join the organization. While Lyncas was also a target for GIANTX and Fnatic, Rostermania suggests G2 has emerged as the frontrunner.
Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan is reportedly not staying with G2's active roster for 2027, according to Sheep Esports. As the French jungler is under contract until the end of 2028, G2 is expected to demand a transfer fee for his departure. Esportmaníacos reports that discussions are already underway regarding a potential move for SkewMond to the North American organization Shopify Rebellion.
The top lane and support positions also face uncertainty. Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik is reportedly at risk of leaving, with Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan from Team Vitality emerging as a potential replacement. Additionally, Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle is currently in negotiations with both G2 Esports and Team Vitality, according to Esportmaníacos, leaving his future—and a potential return to G2—unconfirmed.
