Frozen explains why it is too early to talk about FaZe’s return to the top

The Slovak player first discussed the match against The MongolZ. Despite the positive result, he did not hide the fact that FaZe were dissatisfied with their performance:

"I am happy that we won, but I am not satisfied with how we did it. We still need to review many things and improve a lot to reach the level where we want to be," said David “frozen” Čerňanský.

One of the match’s most memorable moments was FaZe’s incredible comeback on Nuke, where the team won 13 consecutive rounds after a disastrous start. frozen revealed that the turning point came during a brief team discussion in which he reminded his teammates about his experience with similar comebacks.

"At 10:2, I told the guys that I had already been in a similar situation—we were losing 2:13 to Liquid but still managed to come back. After losing one round, we realized that if we wanted to save the game, we needed to communicate much better. Then we simply took it one round at a time, built momentum, and everything started going our way," explained David “frozen” Čerňanský.

Following the summer rebuild, FaZe continue to adapt to life without Finn “karrigan” Andersen, who served as the team’s main leader for many years. frozen admitted that responsibility for the atmosphere and communication within the roster is now shared among all the experienced players.

"Of course, I feel more responsibility. At the same time, every one of us needs to speak up, suggest solutions, and help the team. We are still in the process of building," noted David “frozen” Čerňanský.

The Slovak player also discussed the new role of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who took charge of FaZe following the roster changes. According to frozen, the team still needs to learn how to support its captain more effectively during matches.

"We still need to understand how we can help Russel more with calling. There is a lot of work ahead of us. Yes, we are playing better than we were six months ago, but if you look at our matches, it is clear that we still have a lot to improve," stated David “frozen” Čerňanský.

Despite this, frozen spoke positively about the atmosphere within the updated roster. He believes the arrival of younger players has brought additional energy and a stronger desire to improve.

"It is genuinely refreshing. You can constantly feel the enormous amount of energy within the team. I am a fairly calm person myself, but it is great to see the fire and hunger to win that the guys bring into every match," shared David “frozen” Čerňanský.

At the end of the interview, frozen also commented on FaZe’s potential semifinal opponent. Despite Spirit’s status as one of the strongest teams in the world, he admitted that he would prefer to face them.

"Personally, I would choose Spirit. We came to this tournament to understand where we currently stand. A match against a top-three team would be a great test and show how we handle an opponent of that level," concluded David “frozen” Čerňanský.
