Fortnite: How to Complete Season Control Challenges
This guide covers the active challenges for Fortnite's current season, Control. It explains how to complete both the seasonal trials and the daily missions, which reset every day at 16:00 MSK. The instructions focus on specific mechanics such as entering cheat codes, evacuating spirits, and upgrading loot hacking skills using Dust of Spirits.
Seasonal Challenges: Control
The seasonal section titled Break the Rules, Level Up, Defend Yourself! contains three main objectives. Note that the update frequency for these specific challenges is currently unconfirmed, and some tasks may only be relevant during the first few matches of the season.
Find and Enter a Cheat Code on the Island
To complete this challenge, you must locate a cheat code terminal on the map. These terminals are scattered across the island. Approach the terminal and interact with it to activate the code. After activation, the game will display a sequence of arrow keys on the screen. You must repeat this exact combination to successfully find the spirit.
On PC, be aware that you may need to use both the WASD movement keys and the arrow keys to input the sequence correctly. This challenge is most likely to be completed in your first few matches, as the probability of it remaining active after that is low.
Evacuate a Spirit to Get Dust of Spirits
There are two ways to evacuate spirits, both of which have been consistent since the previous season:
- Portable Evacuator: If you have this item, hold the pickaxe selection button and choose Portable Evacuator from the wheel. This will send any nearby spirit to the base. Note that this item is not infinite and will be consumed upon use.
- Standard Evacuator: Go to an evacuation station, call the crate, and wait 30 seconds for it to land. Once the crate arrives, approach it and place all available spirits inside.
While the map of evacuation points referenced in some sources may be outdated, the locations themselves have not changed. Ensure you are at a valid station to complete this task.
Acquire or Upgrade Loot Hacking Skills
To complete this challenge, you need to spend Dust of Spirits on upgrades. Follow these steps:
- Open the Control tab in the main menu.
- Select the sub-section New Loot Rules.
- Choose any available upgrade and click the Upgrade button.
Once the upgrade is purchased, the challenge will be marked as complete.
Daily Challenges
Daily challenges in Control reset every day at 16:00 MSK. Here is how to complete the common daily tasks:
Obtain an Item via Loot Hacking
This task requires you to find and enter a blue cheat code. Unlike the seasonal challenge, which may involve any code, this daily task specifically looks for blue-colored codes. Once you enter the code, you will receive an item and complete the challenge.
Buy Items or Services at the Dust of Spirits Station
Visit an evacuation station and interact with the computer terminal. Purchase any available service or item to complete this task. This is a straightforward interaction that does not require specific items or skills.
Level Up Spirits
Increasing the level of your spirits is passive. Any action you take in the game, from opening chests to eliminating enemies, contributes to leveling up your spirits. Simply playing the game will fulfill this requirement.
Evacuate Spirits
This daily challenge uses the same mechanics as the seasonal one. Use either the Portable Evacuator or the Standard Evacuator at a station to complete the task. Ensure you have at least one spirit available to evacuate.
Important Notes
Keep in mind that the frequency of updates for the seasonal challenges is not officially confirmed. Additionally, while the map of evacuation points may appear outdated in some references, the actual locations in the game have not changed. Always verify your progress in the in-game menu to ensure challenges are marked as complete.
