Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Launches Exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2
During today's Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Direct, Nintendo shared news about the latest entry in the series. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on Sept. 17.
The story is set in the prosperous Dagdan Empire, where the capital Dagsion hosts the Heroic Games. Five years later, the empire faces destruction from the revived demon god Balor, and four Heroes have vanished. The player takes on the role of a chosen soul tasked with saving the world.
Players can choose to play as one of the four Heroes: Cai seeking to save his father, Dietrich fighting for battle, Theodora defending her kingdom's honor, or Leda seeking revenge. Each Hero has their own story that can be revisited to change the narrative path. Progress is saved for each character, allowing parallel play.
Battle mechanics feature strategic unit placement and Blaze Arts, special attacks powered by a Hero's health points. A key feature is Fortuna's Blessing, which allows players to rewind time after any move to rethink strategy or correct mistakes.
The game offers over 10 Specialty Classes and Advanced units like Cataphracts and Elephant Riders. Beyond traditional battles, players can explore the world map, delve into dungeons with unique clash mechanics, and prepare in Dagsion's facilities like the Arena and Shopping Arcade.
Pre-orders are available now on the Nintendo eShop. On Sept. 17, the Dagdan Collection will be released, featuring a steel game case, character art cards, a map of Dagda, and an artbook. Additionally, Nintendo Music will receive tracks from the game, and the Nintendo Today! app will get a new theme starting tomorrow.
