EFT The Extortionist Quest Guide
The Extortionist is an early quest in Escape from Tarkov issued by Skier. It takes place on the Customs map and requires you to locate a hidden package using a specific key. This guide outlines the prerequisites, exact locations, and rewards for completing the task.
Quest Requirements and Rewards
To accept The Extortionist, your character must reach level 7. The quest becomes available only after you complete the prerequisite quest, Supplier. Upon successful completion, you receive the following rewards:
- +3,200 EXP
- +0.04 Skier reputation
- 500 dollars (base amount)
- 525 dollars with Intelligence Center Level 1
- 575 dollars with Intelligence Center Level 2
- 1× Molot Arms VPO-209 .366 TKM carbine
- 3× AK 7.62×39 30-round magazines (issued ’55 or later)
- 6× .366 TKM EKO ammo packs (20 rounds each)
- 1× BNTI Zhuk body armor (Press)
- Unlocks the purchase of the Remington Model 870 12ga pump-action shotgun at Skier Level 1
Step-by-Step Completion Guide
All objectives for this quest are located on the Customs map. The process involves finding a key, using it to access a locked location, and retrieving a specific item.
- Obtain the Unknown key
You need the Unknown key to progress. You can find it on the body of a Scav in the bushes near the “Welcome to Tarkov” truck. This key spawns in every raid, but other players may take it before you. Alternatively, you can purchase the key on the Flea Market. - Locate the target cabin
Once you have the key, head to the cabin near warehouse 4. This location is situated between the gas stations on the shipping yard area of the map. - Retrieve the Secure case
Use the Unknown key to unlock the cabin. Inside, you will find the required item, the Secure case for documents 0048, hidden under a jacket. - Extract and deliver
After picking up the case, you must survive and extract from the map. It is recommended to perform this step near the end of the raid, as most other players will have already died or extracted, reducing the risk of losing the quest item. - Hand over to Skier
Return to Skier and hand over the Secure case for documents 0048 to complete the quest.
Tactical Considerations
Customs is a popular map that often contains many other PMCs and Scavs. Knowing the exact locations of the key and the target cabin allows you to plan a direct route, minimizing unnecessary exposure. If you encounter resistance, prioritize survival and extraction over combat, as losing the quest item will require you to restart the process.
