ECL S52 Cup Day 5 Recap: Overtake Sector and Chicken Coop reach lower final
Overtake Sector and Chicken Coop have secured their spots in the lower bracket final of the ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup 1, while Zomblers and EMPIRE were eliminated from contention.
The day began with a decisive victory for Overtake Sector over EMPIRE. Despite EMPIRE's strong starts on both maps, including a tight 6-6 deadlock on Mirage and a resilient 6-1 lead on Inferno, they could not sustain their momentum. Overtake Sector capitalized on the second halves, with Umar "Umar" Qaiser delivering a standout performance with a 2.24 rating in the second half of Mirage and Augustin "corim" Morales securing his team's win on Inferno with 25 kills. The match concluded with a 2-0 scoreline.
In the other semi-final, Chicken Coop dismantled Zomblers to advance. Chicken Coop took control early on Inferno, winning the pistol round and building an insurmountable lead to close out the map 13-5. They repeated their dominance on Nuke, where main AWPer Chad "Crisp" Bredeson posted a solid 1.50 rating, helping his team hold their halftime lead and win the match 2-0.
The tournament now moves to its grand finale today, featuring two best-of-three matches: Voca against Marsborne in the upper bracket final, and Overtake Sector facing Chicken Coop in the lower bracket final.
