EA SPORTS UFC 6 Starter Guide: Flow State and Career

UFC 6 opens up best when you learn fight phases before jumping into online.

Where to Start

The best UFC 6 start is not ranked online, but learning the fight phases. Flow State makes transitions smoother, yet stand-up, clinch, takedown defense, and ground play still demand different decisions.

Before a long session, finish the tutorials, play Career Mode, and practice ground defense separately.

Stand-Up

  • Do not spam power shots: stamina matters more than a highlight.
  • Keep the right distance for your fighter's style.
  • Watch habits: repeated low kicks or jabs can be timed and punished.

Clinch and Takedowns

Treat the clinch as a transition phase, not a random pause. It can slow a striker, pin an opponent, or set up a takedown.

Takedowns work best after a stand-up threat. If you shoot without setup, opponents will read it early.

Ground Game

Ground play is the new-player filter. The goal is not always a fast submission; holding position and draining stamina can be stronger.

When defending, avoid panic inputs. First read whether the opponent is holding, striking, or transitioning.

Career and Online Career

Career Mode is the safer place to learn. Move into Online Career once you understand range, basic takedown defense, and how to survive on the ground.

Online Checklist

  • You know your fighter's ideal range.
  • You can defend basic takedowns.
  • You do not spend all stamina in round one.
  • You know when to hold position and when to stand up.
