EA SPORTS College Football 27 Review: Strong Sports Foundation, Difficult Monetization
College Football 27 makes an important step for the series, but progression and purchases cannot be ignored.
What Works
College Football 27 is strong where the series sells itself best: program atmosphere, season stakes, traditions, stadium noise, and the sense that decisions shape a team's path. Dynasty and Road to Glory remain the main long-play modes.
The PC debut gives the release extra weight. Settings, crossplay, and availability through Steam/EA app make the game more visible to players who previously watched from the outside.
Where the Debate Begins
EA and Steam pages list in-game purchases, and Steam separately lists College Football Points. That is expected for Ultimate Team, but press reaction shows that players are especially sensitive when purchases affect the feel of progression in career and long-form modes.
Even a strong sports base suffers if players start asking whether progression is shaped by design or by the store.
PC Version
For PC, requirements are not the only concern. EA says the team is monitoring feedback and investigating PC issues. That is normal post-launch work, but buyers should remember that the series' first PC year will likely be a tuning period.
