Dynasty Warriors producer would rather make new games than remasters
Dynasty Warriors producer Tomohiko Sho has expressed a preference for working on new games or sequels rather than spending the rest of his career creating remasters of his previous titles.
In an interview with 4Gamer, Sho clarified that while he is not ruling out future remasters entirely, he is not actively seeking them. He noted that whether the series receives further updates depends on the performance of the recently released Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered.
The producer admitted that working on remasters can feel like creating near-complete remakes, which leads him to question the repetitive nature of the work. "I'm in my fifties now and I sometimes think about how many more games I can make before I retire. So I'd rather make new games or sequels," Sho said. However, he hinted that he might hand the responsibility for future remasters to other team members to focus on new content. He also mentioned that remasters might be considered for titles that are not currently available on Steam.
