Dune: Awakening 1.4.10.1 Review: A Useful, Quiet Hotfix

Dune: Awakening received a practical update for players who log in every day.

Verdict

Dune: Awakening 1.4.10.1 from July 1 is a good live-service hotfix, but not a major content patch. Its job is practical: reduce technical friction, improve the building menu, and fix several specific bugs.

The most important line is further work to considerably reduce PSO stutters. For a survival MMO, that matters because stutters break not only visuals but the feeling of control.

Building Gets More Readable

Funcom changed the building menu layout to prevent required materials from overlapping while showing up to 10 building sets at once. The Z, C, and arrow prompts are now clickable with the mouse.

A placeholder category was also removed from the Sub-Fief Console building limitation window. Small, but important for trust in the interface.

Sample Recovery Is Clearer

The Sample Recovery Landsraad mission now has footprints in the sand between the rock islands, making the path easier to follow. The game does not change the objective; it makes the route more readable.

What Was Fixed

The fixes include a teleport issue from a specific place in O'odham to the Mysa Tarill Contemplation Room entrance, plus a cargo container issue where lowering it through a horizontal pentashield could send it outside the base.

Patch Score

7.5/10. Hotfix 1.4.10.1 makes Dune: Awakening more comfortable and reliable without changing its structure. It is useful for active players, especially those affected by PSO stutters, building UI issues, or base logistics bugs.
