Linked Blast and Sparking! Boost in DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO update 3020.019.003.012.013 arrived on July 29, followed by Super Limit-Breaking NEO on July 30, 2026. Its central system additions are Linked Blast and Sparking! Boost. The first connects a character switch to an immediate Blast; the second spends extra Skill Stocks to enter a stronger Sparking! Mode.
Understanding Linked Blast
Linked Blast activates as a new character enters battle: the incoming fighter immediately fires a Blast. It removes part of the pause between rotation and pressure, so a switch becomes both a way to preserve health and the start of an offensive sequence.
The practical problem is timing. If the opponent is free and ready to defend, the follow-up is not guaranteed to land. Connect the switch to knockback, recovery after your own action, or a situation where the opponent has fewer movement options.
When to Use Sparking! Boost
Sparking! Boost consumes additional Skill Stocks to enter a stronger Sparking! Mode. It trades stored resources for immediate tempo, making it valuable only when the remaining opening supports a full sequence rather than one blocked action.
Check both stock count and position before activation. When far behind, the boost may create a comeback window, but an early spend removes access to other skills. In an even match, waiting for a confirmed advantage is usually more efficient.
Training Without Invented Combos
Test Linked Blast first against a stationary target, then enable CPU defense and recovery options. The goal is not simply to see the effect; it is to learn the distance and timing at which an opponent can block.
Compare Sparking! Boost under identical health, Skill Stock, and distance conditions. This exposes the resource cost and the pressure actually gained. A specific attack route still depends on the selected character.
Auras, Rooms, and New Stages
A new option enables or disables aura changes for characters trained through Limit Breaker Journey. Room rules can separately allow or ban those trained fighters, giving organized matches a clear pre-series setting.
The update also adds Rocky Land (White Valley), City Ruins (Clear Skies), and Molten Lava, the track ZERO, a high-difficulty Extra Battle for Custom Battle, and new two-dimensional cut-ins with text.
A Short Learning Plan
Install the update and verify the version first. Test both mechanics in training, choose the aura option, and agree on the Limit Breaker Journey room rule before a series begins.
Do not force one sequence across the roster: Blast speed, range, and recovery differ. A reliable route begins with the chosen fighter and current position. Sources: Bandai Namco Entertainment; Spike Chunsoft; the official July 29, 2026 update notice.
