CS2 Update: Crosshair System Overhaul and Rush Mode Adjustments
Valve has deployed a new update for Counter-Strike 2, headlined by a fundamental overhaul of the crosshair system. The patch also introduces adjustments to the Rush mode timers and addresses several animation bugs.
The most significant change lies in how crosshair dimensions are calculated. Previously, thickness and length values used an arbitrary internal scale that varied depending on the display resolution. The new system defines these parameters directly in pixels, ensuring that a specific setting looks identical across different screens. Additionally, automatic rescaling has been implemented; if a player switches resolutions, the crosshair will adjust proportionally to maintain its visual appearance without manual reconfiguration.
New customization options include a static square crosshair style and the ability to draw half-outlines (showing only the top-left portions). The update also fixes the 0 gap width bug and reduces the minimum dynamic spread distance to 64 pixels, allowing the dynamic crosshair to more accurately reflect real weapon inaccuracy.

In Rush mode, the maximum countdown-after-elimination time on end rooms and Convoy has been doubled from 7 to 14 seconds. To prevent unfair advantages, the countdown will no longer trigger if an entire team is eliminated via suicides, team kills, or player disconnects. Furthermore, warmup times, freeze time, and technical timeout durations have been reduced.
Miscellaneous fixes include corrections to reload animations. Valve addressed issues with the Dual Berettas first-person reload, as well as animation bugs involving the silent reload for left-handed viewmodels and the third-person player model animation speed.
