Cozy Game Restoration enters post-launch phase: known bugs and priorities
Cozy Game Restoration has officially entered its post-launch phase. While the soothing simulator has avoided major game-breaking issues in its first 24 hours, the developer is already tackling a list of known bugs and outlining the immediate priorities for the game's development.
Developer Adam released a post-launch update shortly after the game's debut, acknowledging that while there are several 'spicy bugs,' the title has avoided critical, game-breaking failures. The developer is currently focused on resolving specific technical issues and implementing quality-of-life features to improve the player experience.
Known issues and technical bugs
The developer highlighted several technical hurdles that players may encounter, particularly regarding hardware compatibility and localization:
- Steam Deck soft locks: Some users experience soft locks when the device enters sleep or screensaver mode. The developer is working to replicate and fix this to ensure save safety.
- Localization issues: Russian language is currently missing due to a setup error in the localization settings. Additionally, the tutorial popup for the collection room is not localizing.
- Interaction and tool bugs: Cleaning tools may not register with the trigger at certain angles even when the sponge indicates it can draw; tweezers may click on selection, causing unintended pickups like peanuts.
- Visual and UI errors: A system cursor is visible in-game; the unlocks page shows placeholder page numbers (e.g., 12/50); some artwork is disconnected, and an error box appears when dragging empty items onto nodes.
- Object and mechanic issues: CD-discs are not correctly allowing adhesive to spawn due to a potential mask trigger issue; using hotkeys to skip instructions in the letter intro can cause a softlock.
Development priorities and upcoming features
To improve the game's polish, the developer is prioritizing several features and quality-of-life improvements, including:
- Implementation of Achievements and Cloud saves.
- Inventory filters and toolbar callouts.
- Quality-of-life improvements: making the sponge and bin movable with remembered positions, and better onboarding regarding the heat gun's use for softening sticker glue.
Looking further ahead, Adam mentioned that larger content updates, such as opening carts and future gameplay expansions, will be detailed in a dedicated roadmap post expected in the coming weeks.
