Corsair Acquires Trak Racer Assets to Expand Sim Racing and Flight Simulation Offerings
Corsair (Nasdaq: CRSR) announced the acquisition of Trak Racer assets on August 5, 2026. The deal brings Trak Racer into Corsair's brand portfolio alongside Fanatec, expanding the company's presence in sim racing hardware and flight simulation.
What Changed in Corsair’s Portfolio
Previously, Corsair’s sim racing ecosystem was primarily anchored by Fanatec, which focused on electronics: wheelbases, steering wheels, pedals, shifters, and force feedback systems. With the acquisition of Trak Racer, Corsair now adds a physical chassis portfolio including aluminum and tubular cockpits, racing seats, display mounts, and motion/haptic systems.
Matt Sten, founder of Trak Racer, has joined Corsair as Chief Technology Officer for Sim Solutions. Both brands have long-standing ties to Formula 1 and will continue to build on these partnerships together.
Additionally, the acquisition gives Corsair its first real foothold in flight simulation. Trak Racer’s TR550 Flight Simulator provides an established starting point in the category, leveraging the same engineering principles used in high-end racing rigs—precise controls, a rock-solid frame, ergonomics, and motion/haptics.
Retail Availability and Distribution
Trak Racer previously sold primarily direct-to-consumer online. The acquisition opens the door for Trak Racer cockpits and simulators to reach more retail shelves and markets worldwide through Corsair’s existing retail and distribution network.
What Remains Unclear
The press release does not specify exact launch dates, pricing, or integration details for the combined lineup. It is also unclear whether Trak Racer products will be sold separately from Fanatec or only as part of unified turnkey solutions.
