Chinese Teams Fail to Win a Single Map in Opening Matches of VALORANT Champions 2026
All four Chinese representatives at VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai began their campaign with 0:2 defeats. Following the conclusion of the first round of the group stage, the Chinese teams lost all four series and failed to win a single map, moving them into elimination matches.
Opening Match Results
TYLOO was the first Chinese team to compete at the home championship. They faced G2 Esports in Group C and suffered a 0:2 series loss, failing to secure any maps.
In Group D, Karmine Corp defeated XLG Esports with a 2:0 scoreline. Over the course of the two maps, the Chinese side managed only nine rounds, while their opponents took 26.
In Group B, EDward Gaming fell to LOUD in a 0:2 series. The matches concluded with an 8:13 loss on Lotus and a 5:13 loss on Summit.
The final opening match for the region involved JD Gaming, who lost 0:2 to FUT Esports in Group A. This brought the overall record for Chinese teams in the opening round to 0:4 in series and 0:8 in maps.

All four teams still maintain a chance to advance to the playoffs, but any further defeat will result in elimination. The upcoming schedule is as follows:
