Canyon's NA Solo Queue Nickname is 'Concrete Jungle'
Following Gen.G's 2-1 victory over LYON during the Swiss Stage of the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds), jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu opened up about his strategic choices and a unique personal detail regarding his solo queue presence.
Drafting and Matchup Dynamics
Reflecting on the series, Canyon admitted that the first game presented significant challenges due to poor drafting. He noted that the team's composition made it difficult to engage in fights, even when the opportunity arose.
The jungle matchup also played a key role in the series' progression. While Inspired utilized a unique champion pool—including a pick of Xin Zhao—Canyon opted for Jayce after carefully evaluating his options for the jungle role. This decision was central to how Gen.G navigated the mid-game skirmishes.
Motivation in 'Concrete Jungle'
Beyond the tactical analysis, Canyon revealed that his current North American solo queue nickname is 'Concrete Jungle'. The name is a direct reference to New York, the host city for the upcoming tournament finals.
For the veteran jungler, the nickname serves as a psychological driver. With Gen.G needing two more wins to secure a spot in the finals, the connection to the host city provides extra motivation. "I'm always confident, and looking at my solo queue nickname gives me motivation," Canyon stated. "I will work hard to make sure we get there."
